The project AUTOMOST entitled “Automated guide for dual transport systems” was founded by the program CIEN of CDTI on 2016. The objective of AUTOMOST is to develop technologies for the automation of vehicles in urban transport and industrial applications, to increase significantly the efficiency, safety and environmental sustainability.

More specifically, AUTOMOST will allow the implementation of shared control systems (Dual-Mode) for future automated vehicles that will allow more efficient and flexibly operational services, in a context of intelligent and connected infrastructures.  Thus, AUTOMOST engage the research and development of the enabler components in a holistic way, integrating the value chain for guaranteeing a high impact on industry and global lead positions for all the members inside the consortium. With this goals in mind, the project starts from already existing functionalities, ADAS systems, for example: Adaptive Control Cruise (ACC), Lane Keeping System (LKS), Pedestrian detection, smart infrastructures… to enable more efficient operation modes for mobility and infrastructures providers companies, validating cost reductions per operations in particular applications.

Different kinds of control systems had been already developed in previous projects, but in a isolate mode and for other uses case or applications, at European and national levels. AUTOMOST pretends to create safe, efficient and modulate implementation of the embedded intelligent systems on the automated vehicles for real environments, rural and interurban.

Main goals:

1. Design and implement control architectures for automated vehicles.

2. Implement embedded perception and actuator systems.

3. Implement a global and local planner.

4. Implement a communication system between vehicles and infrastructure (V2I).
